#32 Great Week!

Exchanges with Chris. He just sent in his mission papers! we find out where he goes in a few weeks.
This week for district meeting we set goals. I love to make an activity out of it! However many girl scout cookies Elder Larsen could fit in his mouth were how many people we would invite to baptism in the next 2 weeks! He fit 16 cookies!!! Holy Cow!!! Hahaha he was a good sport:)
Making omelettes after church.

This week we saw so many miracles! Last night we went to a "Why I Believe" fireside where all the recent converts and returning less actives. The spirit was so strong! One of the speakers was Kellie, 17yrs old, from my ward. She wanted to get up and share her testimony and guess what!? She isn't even baptized yet! The sisters have been teaching her for a year and her mom didn't want he baptized until a few weeks ago. Monica, Kellies mom, had a change of heart and is now taking the discussions and thinking about baptism! She finally gave Kellie the consent to be baptized for March 16th! Kellie got up and bore a powerful testimony of the gospel last night. Afterward she came to me and asked if I would baptize her! The last few weeks we have seen so many miracles.

Kris and Justice are doing great! I was so happy to see that Justice went to mutual with a friend on Wednesday! They couldn't make it to church today because the little baby who is 4 months old was sick on Sunday. We read about the Anti-Nephi-Lehites this week with them and how they buried their weapons of war deep in the ground. I love how converted those people were. Kris loved the story! Alma 23: 7 "For they became a righteous people; they did lay down the weapons of their rebellion, that they did not fight against God any more, neither against any of their brethren." They were willing to lay down their lives for the gospel. They quit fighting. They gave their all to the Lord. We must do the same!

Alberta came to church again! It was a big thing for her because she takes care of her 90 year old mother and Sundays are their day together. AND it was her birthday! She is doing great. We hope to put her on date for baptism this week!

Tonight we are teaching a family home evening at the church with less actives and investigators! It should be fun! We hopefully will have hundreds of people come because it literally felt like we invited hundreds haha. We will be teaching it on the Easter season!

We were asked to sing in church next week and so that will be interesting. I am not sure what we are singing so if any of you have any ideas my ears are open!

President Cleveland had the opportunity this past weekend to attend a Priesthood Leadership Conference in Cincinnati with Elder Neil L Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve, and Bishop Waddell of the Presiding Bishopric, and Elder Gong who is one of the Presidents of the Seventy. "We won't be able to stand on borrowed light." You have an opportunity every day to be the keeper of the flame in your own life. Conversion is more then a testimony. Our conversion must be renewed constantly. " We look upon those things that are not seen. What must I see that I cannot see? What must I know that I do not know? Keep your head in the scriptures, sincere prayer, develop the capacity to love everyone and increase your faith in Jesus Christ. Increase your understanding of the Atonement.

Love you all! Have a good week.

#31 - Finishers wanted

It has been a fabulous week. We had a zone meeting on Friday and the theme was finishers wanted. That fits perfect to where we are. We have so many people to work with now we have to finish! It is going to take a team effort here. Members, missionaries, and investigators! The foundation to having investigators progress is effective member present lessons.

OH MY WORD ALBERTA MADE IT TO CHURCH!!!! Our prayers were answered!!!! And she was not the only one there! We also had our gators Kris and Justice come! Kris is in her 30s and Justice is her daughter who is 11. She has a 3 month old as well. We gave them both a church tour Saturday so they were comfortable coming to church. The spirit was so strong! We put them on date for april 16th!!!! I asked if she had any questions and she old had one. Why we, as missionaries, are doing this. I had the opportunity to bear a simple testimony of why. ah it was so nice. Those moments are some of the reasons why i love the mission:) They were pretty nervous but loved church! Everyone loved them!! We were talking after and she cant wait to come again next week! Justice already has a friend in the ward too! Everyone latched on to them. Kris' husband loves his sports. He is friendly to us but she says he isn't sure because he doesn't feel comfortable not knowing anyone. No biggie! March madness is this week and he took the whole week off for it haha! We are thinking of stopping by and talking with him separately. We are going to work with him:) Love you mom thanks for the tips! I don't forget to laugh thats for sure:)

I miss Martinsville! That is such a great place! But I love Greenwood too!! they are both great in their own way. I love the normal people here. I love the ward! In Martinsville they had 5 people i taught come to church last week! I was so happy! Jeremiah Cash and his family plus another guy we taught! I sent a testimony text to J Cash telling him I am proud he is taking the step to coming to church. He is a great friend.

Joe is a good kid. We tracked into him last week and have been teaching him and his grandma. He texted us Saturday wondering if we wanted to come over and hangout haha. We laughed. We were in the area later that day so we stopped in and played a basketball game of PIG with him. As we were leaving to go tracking he asked if he could come help preach the gospel! ha we didn't mind! So he went out tracking with us! We made sure to go to a few members houses with him as well. He is hilarious! He is coming to play ball today with us at the church with the other missionaries too.

Our mission transfer scripture is Moroni 7:33 "And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me." Faith is a principle of action! It was by faith that the worlds were created. By faith that prophets of old performed miracles like parting the Red Sea. And it is by faith we will see miracles and Gods hand in our life.

Elder Wallace and I have set a goal to have a scripture of the week. This week it was Alma 57:21 "Yea, and they did obey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea, and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their mothers had taught them." This hits home to me every time I read it. As we are obedient to every command with exactness, and according to our faith, we will access grace in our lives to see and perform miracles.

Love you all! Have a great week! Invite to have your friends meet with the missionaries! Have the faith to invite. Success comes to those who invite. "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." Wayne Gretzky
