This week for district meeting we set goals. I love to make an activity out of it! However many girl scout cookies Elder Larsen could fit in his mouth were how many people we would invite to baptism in the next 2 weeks! He fit 16 cookies!!! Holy Cow!!! Hahaha he was a good sport:)
Making omelettes after church.
This week we saw so many miracles! Last night we went to a "Why I Believe" fireside where all the recent converts and returning less actives. The spirit was so strong! One of the speakers was Kellie, 17yrs old, from my ward. She wanted to get up and share her testimony and guess what!? She isn't even baptized yet! The sisters have been teaching her for a year and her mom didn't want he baptized until a few weeks ago. Monica, Kellies mom, had a change of heart and is now taking the discussions and thinking about baptism! She finally gave Kellie the consent to be baptized for March 16th! Kellie got up and bore a powerful testimony of the gospel last night. Afterward she came to me and asked if I would baptize her! The last few weeks we have seen so many miracles.
Kris and Justice are doing great! I was so happy to see that Justice went to mutual with a friend on Wednesday! They couldn't make it to church today because the little baby who is 4 months old was sick on Sunday. We read about the Anti-Nephi-Lehites this week with them and how they buried their weapons of war deep in the ground. I love how converted those people were. Kris loved the story! Alma 23: 7 "For they became a righteous people; they did lay down the weapons of their rebellion, that they did not fight against God any more, neither against any of their brethren." They were willing to lay down their lives for the gospel. They quit fighting. They gave their all to the Lord. We must do the same!
Alberta came to church again! It was a big thing for her because she takes care of her 90 year old mother and Sundays are their day together. AND it was her birthday! She is doing great. We hope to put her on date for baptism this week!
Tonight we are teaching a family home evening at the church with less actives and investigators! It should be fun! We hopefully will have hundreds of people come because it literally felt like we invited hundreds haha. We will be teaching it on the Easter season!
We were asked to sing in church next week and so that will be interesting. I am not sure what we are singing so if any of you have any ideas my ears are open!
President Cleveland had the opportunity this past weekend to attend a Priesthood Leadership Conference in Cincinnati with Elder Neil L Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve, and Bishop Waddell of the Presiding Bishopric, and Elder Gong who is one of the Presidents of the Seventy. "We won't be able to stand on borrowed light." You have an opportunity every day to be the keeper of the flame in your own life. Conversion is more then a testimony. Our conversion must be renewed constantly. " We look upon those things that are not seen. What must I see that I cannot see? What must I know that I do not know? Keep your head in the scriptures, sincere prayer, develop the capacity to love everyone and increase your faith in Jesus Christ. Increase your understanding of the Atonement.
Love you all! Have a good week.
