March 14, 2015 - THE BIG DAY!

The Big day! James Coon, Riley Packard, & Braxton Owens all great friends. Had an idea to fill out their mission papers, get their interviews and turn them in on the same day. They all put their acceptance date July 1, 2015. Crazy thing... all 3 young men had the assignments made on the same day! On March 14, 2015, all 3 young men went to the mailbox and found that they had received their calls. To add to the excitement they opened their calls together on Sunday night, June 15 at our church in the gym. The church full of 200 hundred people, Young men and lots of cute Young women wanting to see where these handsome guys were going.

 It's HERE!

To add a lot of fun to the mixture, James mission call came 15 minutes before I was to be at the Gilbert Temple. Katie and Grant Boyd were getting married that same day! So I hurried down to the mailbox to take pictures of James getting his call with his buddies. Then I hurried off to the Temple to be with Katie! It was crazy busy, but tons of fun! Something we will remember forever.

James made it to the Temple on time with his mission call in his hands. Both Grandpa Dayley and Grandpa Coon said they would hold it for James. James new exactly what that meant. It would be opened that day. James wanted Katie to have her special day. He could wait for Sunday to open it with his friends.

Sunday night, March 15 @7pm we opened the calls for James Coon, Riley Packard, and Braxton Owens. They played rock-paper-scissors to see who would go first! James was first, then Riley, then Braxton.

We were very excited!
Riley is going to Seattle, Washington: reporting August 12, 2015
James is going to Indianapolis, Indiana: reporting July 29, 2015
Braxton is going to Spain: reporting August 19, 2015

Here is the top secret news: Know one knows this:
The family was in town for Katie and Grants. We were having a family dinner and everyone wanted James to open his call and read it to the family. So we steamed the envelope open very carefully. Brought it to the family dinner and read it in front of all our family first.  Everyone was shouting for joy. So we really opened his call twice.
Uncle Ron was wearing his favorite team tee shirt. Indianpolis COLTS. The exact place James was called to serve.

I took the guys to the Gilbert Temple for a missionary photoshoot! This is what we got:

We had fun a the photo shoot. The 3 amigo's are very stalwart, young men who are prepared to serve that Lord as missionaries. They are worthy and valiant!
